

He worked for John Amos Power Plant where he retired then went on to work for Toyota Manufacturing Plant in Buffalo, West Virginia, where he retired after 25 years of service. Although he worked in the public arena, he also preached the word of God for 40 plus years. His first love was Jesus, second love was his family, third love was the country, and fourth love was hunting and fishing. He was a dedicated member of Poca Fork Missionary Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Rexford Earl Workman and Betty Jones Workman; Paternal grandparents, Joseph Booker Workman and Edna Workman; Maternal Grandparents, Charles Peter Jones and Alta Sarah Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, JoAnn Workman; daughters, Teresa Harris of Charleston and Tasha Parsons (Corey) of Saint Albans; grandson, Landon Workman of Charleston; Brothers, Rexford Earl Workman Jr (Debbie) of Charleston, Charles Edward "Bugs" Workman (Susan) of Pinch; sister, Angela Workman Plymale (Richard) of Myrtle Beach South Carolina; and along with a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nephews. Lifelong best friends, Wayne Canterbury and Mike Newhouse.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Elkview Baptist Church, Elkview with Rev. Greg Stover, Rev. Bobby Newhouse, and Rev. Dale Wolfingbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.
A visitation with family and friends will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the Church.
