Hospice House in Charleston after a long illness. He most recently made his home at the Arthur
B. Hodges Center at Edgewood Summit.
Mr. Marshall will be remembered as a loving husband, dad, brother, uncle, and pop-pop.
Born in 1926, Toney was a graduate of DuPont High School where he was an outstanding
athlete in football and basketball during the 1940's. He served his country in the United States
Navy during World War II, and retired from Charleston Newspapers with 36 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Irene, parents Russell and Rosemary
Marshall, brothers Joe, Sam and John Marshall, and sisters Mary Pacifico, Margaret Pinson, Ann
Russe, and Victoria Burns.
His survivors include his son John, of Charleston, daughter Toni Harris {Danny} of Hurricane and his grandson Adam {Kayla} of South Point, Ohio. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
At Mr. Marshall's request, there will be no visitation. There will be a private service for
immediate family at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 22, in the mausoleum at Montgomery Memorial
Park in London WV. Interment will immediately follow.
The family would like to give special thanks to the wonderful caregivers at the Arthur B. Hodges Center as well as the angels at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston. Great care was taken with our father.
