Tony Thomas Carson

Tony Thomas Carson, 92, of Charleston, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at home. Tony was born in St. Albans on December 4, 1924, to the late Frank and Anna Catersino and raised in Miami on Cabin Creek. He was a retired Supervisor for Carbon Fuel with 39 years of service. He was WW II Navy Veteran and a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Tony enjoyed spending time with his family, loved the outdoors, especially working in his flowers and raising a garden and tinkering around in his garage. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mozella Carson; and several brothers and sisters. Tony is survived by his children, Edward (Pam) Carson and Sherry Bledsoe, both of Charleston, Stephen Carson of Huntington, Stephanie Sydenstricker, Vicky Snodgrass, Toni Nelson and Susan Butler, all of Charleston; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden with the Rev. Ronald Catersino officiating. The burial will follow at a later date at Montgomery Memorial Park, London. A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to Kanawha Valley Senior Service Meals on Wheels, 2428 Kanawha Blvd East, Charleston, West Virginia 25311 or Kanawha Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd West, Charleston, West Virginia 25312-2536.
