

Virgie was born in East Bank on November 24, 1944, to the late Bob and Louise Williams Garrison. She attended Spring Fork Missionary Baptist Church for many years and most recently attended the former Midway Community Church. Virgie also worked for many years at the former Video Bug on Campbells Creek.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Melvin Mullins.
Virgie is survived by her daughters, Camilla (Jarrett Pearson) Carter of Campbells Creek and Rhonda (Chris) Phares of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; granddaugters, who were her pride and joy, Katie (Mikeal Lipscomb) Carter of Charleston and Lindsey (Cole) Bumgarner of Scott Depot; brother-in-law, Frank (Sarah) Mullins of Milton; special girl, Taryn Rader; her beloved puppy, Evie; several nieces and nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 5, 2026, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with Pastor Mike Long officiating. Burial will follow at Marmet Memorial Gardens, Marmet.
A visitation with family and friends will be held one hour prior to the service.
