Walter I. Webb, 85, of Campbells Creek, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2016, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following complications from vascular surgery. Walter was born March 30, 1930 in Keith, Boone County, to the late Hubert and Pearlie Mae Massey Webb. He was also preceded in death by his wife; Barbara E. Webb; and 15 siblings. Walter was a retired supervisor with Coleman Trainer Construction Company, a U S Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Campbells Creek Lions Club and the United Steel Workers Union. He spent a lot of time at the Ken Ellis Memorial Park, helping with the maintenance and making sure the park was kept clean for the community. Walter is survived by his daughter, Marilyn Kay Webb Reed of Charleston; grandsons, Roger William Reed II of Ashford and Robert Walter Reed of Charleston; and four great-grandchildren, Alysa, Gavin, Preston and Icen Reed. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2016 at the Ken Ellis Memorial Park, Campbells Creek. The date and time to be announced in the spring.
