

Gregg was a 1976 graduate of DuPont High School and recently retired from Shamblin Stone after 43 years of service. He loved everything heavy equipment and muscle cars, a.k.a. Krista. But his biggest love was his grandbabies.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Bill and Nina Elkins; and several aunts and uncles.
He is survived by daughter, Terra Looney of Dunbar; son, Chris (Michelle) Elkins of Charleston; ex-wife and best friend, Heather Elkins of Dunbar; adopted daughter by heart, Sabine Dent of North Carolina; and special family friend, Doris Brown of Charleston; brothers, David (Susie) Elkins of Belle, Jeff (Laurie) Elkins of Nitro; and sister, Beth (Dale) Drake of Virginia; grandchildren, Taylor Kuhn, Lucas and Hunter Looney, Tasker Beard, William, Tyler, Memphis and Finley Elkins and Kayleigh and Madelyn Kirk. Also, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and -nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 13, 2025, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the service beginning at 8:00 p.m. with his brother, David Elkins, officiating.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Thomas Memorial Hospital for their care given to Gregg.
