In 1963, during a chance lunch at Travillian’s in Kanawha City, he met the love of his life, Peggy Clay, and the two built a beautiful life with family always at the center. The couple moved to Valparaiso, Indiana, in 1965, where Billy worked in the steel mills of northwestern Indiana. While in Indiana, he accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and attended the First Baptist Church of Hammond, Indiana. In 1974, they returned home to West Virginia, where he became a Master Electrician and dedicated 26 years to his work at the Union Carbide Technical Center before retiring in 2000. In recent years, he enjoyed WVU sports, watching Blue Bloods, and the monthly reunion luncheons of his DuPont classmates.
Billy’s legacy is marked by his dedication to his family and his profession. He will be remembered for his generosity, humility, his devotion, and the joy he found in the successes of his loved ones.
May he rest in peace, reunited with those who went before him, leaving behind a legacy of love, hard work, and cherished memories.
