Willie Mae Canterbury Wills, 83, a lifelong resident of Malden, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at CAMC General Hospital. Willie was born August 20, 1935 at Malden to the late Anna Irene Krantz and Earl L. Canterbury Sr. She was a 1953 graduate of DuPont High School and a retired Legal Secretary with 31 years of service from the law offices of Savage-Goshorn-MacCorkle and Rippetoe. She was a member of the Malden United Methodist Church. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Franklin Wills; nephews, Steven and David Bess; and brother-in-law, Richard Bess. Left to cherish her memory are a very special son, Michael Franklin (Maria) Wills; grandson, Clay Franklin Wills; step-grandson, Jason Stapleton; sisters, Harriett (Sam) Hastings and Blanche (Don) Carter; brother, Earl L. (Janet) Canterbury; nieces, Sherry Lynn, Kimberly and Denise; nephews, Shawn and Kevin Bess, Lee Canterbury and Jimmy (Diane) Patterson; and very special cousin, Bill (Sherry) Krantz. At Willie’s request there will be no visitation and a graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston with the Rev. George Webb officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Hubbard Hospice House, 1001 Curtis Price Way, Charleston, WV 25311.

Caught sight of this great picture in the Gazette-Mail a couple months ago - my mom and Willie are in the left foreground. Willie was a great lady, I’m really sorry for your loss

Hi, Mike,
I just heard about the passing of your mom. I am so sorry to hear that. Strange, but, I was just thinking of Willie a couple weeks ago. She was a special friend to our family, especially, to my mom.
