Ann A Dohrman
April 8, 1933 – March 4, 2021
Ann Dohrman of Manahawkin passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 4, 2021 at Southern Ocean County Hospital.
She is survived by her husband William (Bob) Dohrman of 64 years, daughters Cathy Kelly and her partner Bill Estel of Bordentown, Karin Kelmartin and her husband Keith of Garwood, NJ. She is also survived by grandsons Erik Kelmartin and his fiancée Jessica Mackay of Fairfield NJ, and Patrick Kelmartin and his fiancée Jennifer Ullrich of Cranford NJ, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Ann was born on April 8, 1933 in Rahway NJ to Charles and Hazel Archer. She is predeceased by her brothers Robert and Richard Archer.
She graduated from Rahway HS, and attended technical school in New York City to become a medical assistant. She was a long time employee of Rahway Ophthalmology Group, and proudly volunteered at the Menlo Park Veteran’s home for many years. After retirement, Ann relocated to the Atlantic Hills Community in Manahawkin in 1991, where she enjoyed many enjoyable hours on Long Beach Island at the beach with her family and friends, and exploring all that LBI had to offer. Ann took pride in her gardening, was an avid reader, and love to watch football (especially Rutgers) and golf whenever it was on. She thoroughly enjoyed her years as an active participant on various committees at the Wright Memorial Presbyterian Church in Barnegat, and was a member of the Long Beach Island women’s club for many years. The joy of Ann’s life was spending time with her family and friends. Her spirit and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. Though I have no memories, I want to express my condolences to Karin and Keith. I know them through the Kelmartin family and am so sorry for their loss. Moms are special and it is hard to lose them and to say good-bye. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Nancy Simons Fredette( Suzanne’s sister)

Ann and Bob have been long time members of our church. We all loved them. Ann helped in the kitchen at dinners and Bake Sales.
She made fantastic Upside Down cakes and made arrangements for our church Christmas luncheons at a local restaurant every
But what warmed my heart most was her concern and care
for Jane when she needed help. Ann was there for her with warm words and warm clothes.
Later Jane was there for Ann, caring for her and taking hot
homemade meals for her and Bob,
Now Bob is in all our prayers and on our church Prayer chain.
We offer love and sympathy to all the family.
Keith and Sue

I remember many good times spent down the shore with Mrs. Dohrman. She always had a smile and a laugh to share with us and treated us like we were her own grandchildren. She will be missed!
