AGE: 91 LONG BEACH ISLAND
Anton Kocian, 91, passed peacefully surrounded by family, Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. Formerly of New York City, Mr. Kocian moved to Long Beach Island, NJ in 1981. An avid fishmen, he loved boats. He spent most of his life as a tugboat Captain in New York harbor. He also was a past governor of the Moose Lodge in Manahawkin, NJ.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Bridie Mullane, he is survived by his present wife of 62 years, Florence; his children, Marion McGarry, Susan Mayewski, Matt Kocian; his grandchildren, Kerry Whittington, Vikki Van Houten, John McGarry, Erin Healy, Jaime Lohrman, and 12 great grandchildren.
Viewing will be at Shinn Funeral Home, Monday, September 20 from 7-9PM, Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9PM. A funeral Mass will be at St Mary's of the Pines In Manahawkin, NJ, on Wednesday at 11AM.
