Cliff Nolan, 62, of Barnegat, NJ passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020. He was born June 3, 1957 in Kearny, NJ to Elmer and Dolores Nolan. He is a graduate of Kearny High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the Army and served 1 term overseas.
Upon returning home, he joined the Teamsters, working in several jobs, much of which was a Beer Driver at Shore Point. He became involved in Teamster politics and eventually went to work at the Teamster International in Washington, DC as a Drive Rep, where he also met his future wife, Nancy. They married in 2005.
After working for the IBT, he went to work for Joint Council 73 in New Jersey as PAC chairman and special events coordinator. One of his functions there was to help many politicians with elections and issues, something that he truly loved doing.
He had two passions that were very important to him, the first being the Heroes-to-Heroes program for military personnel with PTSD. He traveled to Israel with other members to help further the program worldwide. His other passion was the Australian Challenge Program, which helps kids with cancer. He worked tirelessly setting up schedules and events to ensure that these kids would experience their time in the USA as a “Trip of a Lifetime!”
Cliff’s family was very important to him and he loved them very much, especially his nephew, Joseph, of whom he was quite proud. Whenever his friends or family called on him to help, he was there without any thought or hesitation. His pets were important to him as well, especially his parrot Gus. They were lifelong friends and both were well known in the area.
His beloved wife, Nancy, his cherished mother, Dolores, his loving sister, Tracey Coleman (Kevin) and his adored nephew, Joseph, survive him. He is also survived by his step-children, Rick Roeder (Jenni), Kasi Shephard (William), his step-grandchildren, Blake Roeder, Preston Shephard, Hayden Shephard, and Bryna Shephard and his many cousins
Cliff is greatly missed already by his family, his pets and his friends. He truly made his mark in this world and now he will make his mark in heaven.
