Daniel Merwede

Daniel was born in Hackensack, NJ and moved to Manahawkin, NJ 21 years ago. Dan is a retired truck driver. He loved sports, camping and racing. Dan drove a racing hauler for his 2 nephews, John Blewett III and Jimmy Blewett. Dan played softball throughout New Jersey and the East Coast, in which he won many Championships. He truly enjoyed watching his grandsons, Justin playing football and Drew playing baseball, in which he won the District 18 Championship, and his granddaughter, Katie playing on the Stafford Softball league.

Dan was a fan of the NY Yankees and the Jets.

He is predeceased by his mother, Susan Dennis, His grandson, Daniel Viel, his sister,

Linda Lopez/ Blewett, and his nephew, John Blewett III.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Deborah J. Merwede (Hall), his beloved daughters; Kimberly Viel and Renne Balsamo and her husband, Larry. Daniel is also survived by his precious grandchildren; Justin, Gregory, Katie and Drew, as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., and Manahawkin.

A Funeral Home service will be held on Friday, January 20 at 11:00am.

Burial will follow at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, Lakewood, NJ
