I was one of Deana's students when she taught "Fairy Tales on Trial," a summer camp for elementary school children, at Northampton Community College over the course of three summers. I later came back to help Deana with the course for one summer. Words simply cannot describe what Deana meant to me: she was the embodiment of kindness, altruism, and loyalty, and made sure every young person in her company felt accepted. From sharing countless laughs with me during our car rides to summer camp (she would pick me up and drive me home when I volunteered with her), complimenting my writing when I would share pieces of it with her, cheering me on through the college application process, and so much more, Deana is one of the greatest human beings I have ever met during this life. Rest peacefully, Deana Young.

Mrs. Young was a teacher of mine for 3 years, even after me leaving the school she was always just a phone call away. She was one of the best teachers I’ve ever had, very sweet and gentle soul. She loved her students like they were her own children. Mrs. Young always pushed us to go above and beyond our limits and that molded a lot of her students to be very successful. She will forever be missed and loved. God bless her forever and always.

I was heartbroken to hear about the loss of Deana. I worked with her at Raub Middle School for many years and she was truly one of a kind. Deana was one of the kindest, most genuine, caring people I have ever met. Deana cared for her students like they were her own and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone in need. Her loss cannot be put into words! Love and miss you, Deana. Rest In Peace.
