suffering a major stroke at home. She was born August 2,1930 in Jersey City, NJ to Alexander and Jean
(Lewandowski) Bubas. Delores grew up in Jersey City, NJ and Kearney, NJ, graduating from St Cecilia’s
High School, where she funded her own tuition by working part time as a filing clerk at Prudential
Insurance Co in Newark, NJ. She had a lifelong love of the NJ seashore, working there as a waitress
during her High School summers and renting summer houses as an adult. She also loved the music
theatre, attending all the major Broadway musicals of the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s in NYC. She married
George B Hardman in 1952, divorced in 1981.
She attended William Patterson College, Wayne, NJ, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1973. She then
worked as Executive Secretary to the Superintendent of the Passaic County Tech/Voc High School until
her retirement in 1994.
In Manahawkin, she was an active member of the Stafford Garden Club and the Public Library. At the
Stafford Recreation and Waretown Senior Center, she always brought cakes to the Wednesday morning
Senior Club and never missed any luncheons or special events. She always made time to attend parties
at the New Lisbon Developmental Center where her daughter Victoria is a resident.
She is survived by her son, George B Hardman Jr and his wife Rebecca of New Milford, CT, and by her
daughter, Victoria R Hardman of New Lisbon, NJ. Also, her grandchildren, Jennifer Hardman of Rutland,
MA and George W Hardman of Shelton, CT, her sister Jean Griffin of Manahawkin, NJ along with many
Nieces and Nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Ruth Hughes of Toms River, NJ.
There will be a Roman Catholic burial ceremony at the site of her entombment in St Mary’s Cemetery,
Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ, Thursday, June 6 at 12 noon.
