Elsie May Lange passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 19th, 2019. Elsie was born in Liverpool, England and emigrated to the United States at the age of 24 where she met her future husband, Henry James Lange, in Palisades Park, NJ and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. After marriage they moved to Burbank, CA before settling in Freehold, NJ, and also lived for 22 years in Tinley Park, IL before retiring in Vero Beach, FL. Upon Henry’s passing Elsie returned to NJ to be cared for by family.
Elsie is predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Henry James Lange and parents Dorothy May Morrell and John Edward Morrell. She is survived by her sister Eileen Hunt, and daughters Karen McKenzie (and her husband Michael), Kimberley Lilley (and her husband Thomas), and Susan Lange, and by grandchildren Michael Klyzub, Kristin Gonzalez, Stacy Herczeg, JC Sweigart, Kelli Klyzub, Dylan Sweigart, Ryan Sweigart, Kari McKenzie, Brittany McKenzie, Matthew Lange, Skylar Lilley, Tyler Lilley, Sawyer Lilley, Melanie Mislich, Jordyn Lange, and great-grandchildren Michael Klyzub, Aidan Klyzub, Bryce Herczeg, Braelyn Herczeg, Anthony Perrone, Conor Sweigart, Ben Trafer, Hunter Trafer, Kylie Sweigart, Tatum Mislich, Matthew McKenzie, and Maleeya McKenzie.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 27th from 10:00am to 11:00am at Saint Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin, NJ, followed by funeral rites. A private interment will be held at St Rose of Lima Cemetery in Freehold, NJ at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Elsie’s name to Ken’s Kitchen at St Mary of Barnegat (contact John Donato at 609-660-9386), or St Jude Children Research Hospital.
