He was predeceased by Lorraine, his beloved wife of 39 years, as well as his parents Thomas and
Lola Parker.
Gary is survived by his loving daughters, Lindsay Parker and her fiancée David Little and
Hayley Parker and her fiancée David Porsch. He is also survived by his cousin, Kevin Lanahan
and his sisters-in law Lynne Hagan (John) and Gayle Miller and his brother-in-law Gene Bickner
(Nancy) as well as several nieces and nephews.
Gary was a clammer his entire life and was very proud of his ability as a baymen. He enjoyed
deer hunting as well as duck hunting. From the age of 17, he was a duck guide, showing hunters
where and how to find ducks. Gary also had pride in the fact that by the age of 22 he owned his
own piece of property in Warren Grove where he built the log cabin that he and Lorraine still
lived in.
He was an avid collector of decoys, and from time to time, would carve his own. He also enjoyed
going out on his ATV.
Above all else, his family and friends will always remember his great sense of humor. No matter
how he was feeling, he was always happy, always had a smile on his face, always joking. He was
a dedicated husband, as well as a loving father.
He, along with Lorraine will be greatly missed by all.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 1:00-4:00 with a prayer service at 3:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ
