George G Pease

George G. Pease George G. Pease of Manahawkin, NJ died on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Southern Ocean County Medical Center, Manahawkin, NJ. Mr. Pease served in the United States Navy from January 1945 through the fall of 1946 in the Pacific Theater and China. Mr. Pease spent 5 years in the Naval Reserves from 1947 to 1951. Originally from Roselle Park, NJ, Mr. Pease graduated from Seton Hall University in 1953 and spent 26 years with the R. J. Goerke Co. of Elizabeth, Plainfield and Monmouth County – for the most part as a merchandise manager. Mr. Pease was active as an adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America in Roselle Park and in Summit, NJ. Through the mid-seventies and early eighties, Mr. Pease owned and operated a general store/gas station in Califon, NJ. He is survived by his wife Catherine (nee Gwiazdowski), son David (Julie) of Danville, KY; daughters Jill Santella (William) of Summit, NJ and Beth Brochhagen (Robert) of Port St. Lucie, FL. He is also survived by eight lovable grandchildren and a great-grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Wounded Warrior Project. A memorial visitation will be held at Friday, May 18, 2018 from 4:00pm-7:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A memorial service will be 10:00am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the Tuckerton United Methodist Church, Green St. Tuckerton, NJ with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ.
