

Glenn Robert Fessler, age 66, of Manahawkin, passed away on Friday, March 7, 2025 in Ocean Twp, NJ due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease.
Glenn is survived by his beloved wife and partner-in-crime of 39 years, Carolanne, and his two cherished children, Keegan (Kirsten) and Casey (Rich). Surviving also is his older sister Pat and in-laws Joe, Tim (Christine), Paul (Lisa), Colleen (Anthony), Maryellen (Jim), Michelle, Brian (Kim), Joanne (Joe), Tina (Rob), Scott, and Craig. Glenn was loved by many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Robert and Jeanne Fessler and brother-in-laws, Stephen MacHugh and Mike Burke.
Born in Durham, NC, Glenn resided in NJ most of his life. He was a proud alum of The Ohio State University. Glenn worked in education his entire professional career at Southern Regional School District as an industrial arts teacher, career counselor, assistant principal, and adult school principal. He devoted decades to the Beach Haven and Stafford Township volunteer fire departments with many accolades in service to his community.
After spending summers on Long Beach Island as a child, Glenn decided to make his home there. He found passions as a “jack of all trades” at Bay Village and beyond. Glenn spent many hours enjoying his boat and the bay.
Glenn had a playful sense of humor. He was tenacious and hard-working. He was admired for his perspective and ability to find creative solutions grounded in his values. Throughout his life he remained dedicated to his family and community. His generosity continued in his death, with the donation of his brain to further research of Parkinson’s Disease.
Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, March 14th from 3:00pm - 6:00pm at Thomas L. Shinn Funeral Home in Manahawkin, NJ. Funeral home service begins at 5:30pm.
