

Heights and Wood-Ridge, NJ, passed away suddenly at his home Saturday.
He was a loving father and grandfather who devoted most of his time to
doting on his grandchildren. He also loved to give advice and support
to everyone he met.
Hartmut was born in Braunschweig, West Germany; he emigrated to the
United States as a teenager after World War II. After graduating High
School, Hartmut served in the US Army for several years. Upon leaving
the Army, he joined Lufthansa Airlines, retiring in 1991 as Head of
Sales Accounting after 35 years with the firm.
Surviving him are his beloved wife of 49 years, Barbara (nee Speichert);
his sister Lilli and her husband Frank Briner; his 3 children, Kevin and
his wife Christine, daughter Susan Monte-Yodice and her husband Sal,
Sandra Di Ambrosio and her husband Nick. He leaves seven grandchildren,
Kayla, Zachary, Jamie, Dana, Amanda, Jake, and Christian. Hartmut will
be joining his parents Werner and Hildegard, his sisters Ute and
Doertje, and his son Stephen in Heaven.
Services will be held at Thos L Shinn Manahawkin On Tuesday
February 22 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass will be held at St. Francis
Church in Brant Beach on Wednesday at 11am. Interment will be at St.
