at the age of 92.
Born in Newark, NJ; raised in Hillside, NJ; lived in Iselin, NJ and retired in Surf City, NJ.
Helen was married to Don, her loving husband of 62 years who passed away in 2012.
Throughout her lifetime, Helen was an active community volunteer especially with the Iselin Chemical Hook & Ladder Company No. 11 and the United Methodist Church in Edison, NJ.
Surviving Helen are two sons and a daughter; Don and Kathleen Walters; Gary and Sharon Walters and Catherine and Joseph Bondi. Helen was blessed with nine wonderful grandchildren and eight beautiful great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 7th from 10:00am to 11:30am at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A prayer service will be held at 11:00am and personal messages from all are welcomed. All other services will be private.
The family respectfully request masks be worn while attending all services.
The family request no flowers or plants, in lieu donations in Helen’s name may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (See link below)
