James E. O'Brien, 81, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013. Born in Patchoque, NY, he resided in NJ for most of his life.
Husband of the late Betty O'Brien, James is survived by his children, Kathy Smolyn and her husband John, and Jim O'Brien and his wife Denise; and 4 grandchildren, Patrick, Jennifer, Katelyn and Danielle.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin. Funeral services will be 10:15 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 at St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Drive, Manahawkin. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hooper Avenue, Toms River.
