

Affectionately know as Buddy or Jim by those who loved him, he was a long time HAM Radio operator and member of Old Barney Amateur Radio Club.
With his wife and daughter he traveled the US with the Watchung, New Jersey Airstream Club as part of the WBCCI organization where he held several offices within the club.
Jim Proudly served in the United States Coast Guard stationed out of Cape May and worked on NOAA research ships. He was employed for 35 years as a Superintendent for the East Orange Water Commission.
An avid guitar player for over 40 years he enjoyed gardening and boating.
He lovingly restored a 20 ft. Garvey for fishing and clamming at the Jersey Shore.
He is preceded in death by father, James William Plant Jr.
He is survived by mother Mildred (nee Bolton) Plant, wife Lea (nee Tenewitz) Plant and daughter Terry Plant. Sisters Linda Wagoner and Diane Huck along with their husbands Steven Wagoner and Arthur Huck. Brother in-laws Richard Tenewitz, Peter Tenewitz and his wife Joan Tenewitz, along with several beloved Nieces, Nephews, Great Nieces and Nephew.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim's name to Save Barnegat Bay, 725-B Mantoloking Rd. Brick, NJ 08723 or to a charity of your choice.
Services are as follows: Visitation will be Tuesday, September 13, 2016 from 9:30 until 11AM at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm in the Chapel at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Avenue, E. Hanover, NJ 07936
