Jane Marie (Stetter) Bachman passed away peacefully on November 28, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born in Leechburg, Pennsylvania to Mamie and Adolph Stetter, the fourth of six children. She became a nurse to help in the war effort. She was introduced to her future husband, Charles, on a blind date. They were married for 40 years and enjoyed dinner dances and traveling. He introduced her to Long Beach Island, where they summered with their children each year. In 1990, they achieved their dream of retiring to LBI and spending their winters in Florida. She enjoyed musical theater, trips with friends, bird-watching, volunteering at the Long Beach Island Museum, genealogy and solving cryptogram and jigsaw puzzles. She was curious about computers so she learned to email and use the internet to manage her finances, play games, research her family tree, shop, and google whatever struck her curiousity. She was active in Holy Innocents Episcopal Church, the local AARP chapter, the Red Hat Society, Southern Ocean Seniors, and particularly enjoyed lunching with her Little Old Ladies’ Lunch group at Applebee’s. She is survived by four children, Deborah, Cynthia (Dan), Charles (Donna), Tracee; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, a brother, Karl, and a sister, Helen.
Service and interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Arrangements have been entrusted to Thomas L. Shinn Funeral Home.
