

John was born on October 31st, 1965, on Staten Island, New York. He was the second son of James Green and Frances Paccione. He lived a life of service and dedication to his family and community.
John graduated from Monsignor Farrell High School in Oakwood, Staten Island, in 1983. After briefly attending Fredonia University in Western New York, he returned to New York City and joined the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Union Local 20. For over thirty years, John worked in the trade and was a dedicated member of the UBC, serving as the president of the local from 2012 to 2022. During the entirety of his career, he worked tirelessly and selflessly for the best interests of all those in the trade, even at times when it was not easy.
In 2001, John obtained employment with the New York City Department of Transportation. He was part of the Brooklyn Queens Rivers (BQR) Department. He rose through the ranks and eventually became a foreman, with his shop based at Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. John would formally retire in 2022, after twenty years of service.
John's backyard was his pride and joy and showcased his true craftsmanship. He loved to share his many creations with family and friends. He also enjoyed his many cars and looked forward to throwing great parties.
John was a Christian and a member of the Roman Catholic community of the St. Rose of Lima Parish in Freehold, New Jersey.
He was a loving husband and father who dedicated all his efforts to the benefit of his children. He married Donna Borriello in September of 1989; they enjoyed 35 years of marriage. He is survived by his beloved wife Donna, his beautiful children Laik, Brooke, and Trent, and loving mother Frances

A Memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 2 at Lakewood Funeral home 6250 Route 9 in Howell township NJ form 4-8 PM A funeral mass will be held at St Rosa Lima Church in freehold on Wednesday Sept 3 at 10:30 am
