Born on September 11, 1927, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, Jenny carried the vibrant spirit of her island and Spaniard roots throughout her life. She worked for the Mayor of Puerto Rico before moving to New York City, where she joined the electrical union under Mr. Van Arsdale as a union representative. Her life took a magical turn when she was set up on a blind date with Al “Sonny” Cicale—he was instantly captivated by her beauty and gentle presence. On February 23, 1957, they married and began building a life together in Brooklyn, NY, where Jenny embraced her most cherished role: stay-at-home mom.
Jenny was the proud and loving mother of Alfred, Edward, and Nancy. She was the heart of her family, radiating warmth and grace that drew people near. Her joy multiplied with the arrival of her six grandsons—Nicholas, Adam, Bryan, Brandon, Andrew, and Dylan—and she felt blessed to welcome five great-grandchildren into her life: Lucas, Layla, Caroline, Violet, and Shea.
Family gatherings were her specialty. Sundays were sacred: four-hour dinners filled with laughter, stories, and mouthwatering,home-cooked food made with love. Jenny had a passion for entertaining, whether she was hosting card games and bowling nights with “the girls” or decorating her home with charm and care.
Her love for black-and-white TCM films was unmatched, and she found deep joy in escaping into the classic Hollywood era. Frank Sinatra held a special place in her heart—"Old Blue Eyes" was her ultimate heartthrob. She watched all 60 of his films, listened to every one of his 360 songs, and kept them neatly arranged on her shelves, always within reach. Her favorite films were From Here to Eternity and The Man with the Golden Arm.
Jenny lived a life rooted in devotion, love, and strength. She taught her children the importance of putting family first—a lesson they honored as they lovingly held her hands in her final days. She leaves behind a legacy of unwavering affection, timeless memories, and a family forever grateful for her presence.
She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten
