Born in Elizabeth, she grew up in Kenilworth before residing in Union and then moving to Waretown 47 years ago. Not only was Karen a loving mother and homemaker, she had outstanding compassion towards all animals. Karen’s kindness towards animals led her to operate Love Pups Pet Rescue, where she rescued and found forever homes for countless dogs over the last two decades. Her hobbies over her lifetime included horseback riding, tennis, bicycling, and dog agility.
Karen was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Peter M. Morris; her parents, Carl and Eleanor Leschinski; and her brothers Carl and Robert Leschinski. She is survived by her loving daughter, son, daughter-in-law, and brother, Christine of Waretown, Peter, and his wife Danielle of Hawaii, and Richard of Florida, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Karen’s daughter Christine lovingly assisted with her care in the last few years of her life. The family gives her their greatest and warmest gratitude.
No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. The family will notify loved ones in the future when a service is scheduled. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be sent to Associated Humane Societies / Popcorn Park Zoo (https://ahscares.org)
