Karen Rizzo

.Karen Ann Rizzo, 75, of Port Charlotte, Florida and formerly residing in Manahawkin, NJ, met with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 6, 2025 after suffering from ALS. Born October 28, 1949 in Jersey City, NJ.

Karen graduated (1967) from Northern Highlands Regional High School, Allendale, NJ, attended (1967-69) Bergen Community College, Paramus, NJ and attained her LPN Degree from Ocean County School of Nursing 1993 and retired from nursing in 2015 and moving to Port Charlotte, FL.

She also owned her own Lingerie business in Waretown, NJ.

Karen was a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellowship recipient and did volunteer work with various Rotary Clubs her husband was associated with in New Jersey and Florida.

Karen enjoyed entertaining family and friends, reading, sewing, crochet, needlework, boating and swimming in her pool. She was a Woodstock alumna and advocate for Women’s Rights supporting many causes. Everyone who knew her, loved her and she loved them.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Roger M. Klitsch, WWII Navy Veteran and Jeanne M. Klitsch (Suhr) and her younger brother, Roger L. Klitsch, US Navy Vietnam Veteran.

She is survived by her loving husband, Paul, of more than 51 years, a son, James (Dorothy) Rizzo and niece Tricia Klitsch, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Karen’s name to the ALS Foundation at als.org, the Rotary International Foundation at rotary.org. and the JACD Foundation at justagainstchildrendrowing.org.
