

Karen Filemyr Whybark was born on December 22, 1949 and passed away on November 10, 2025. Karen was born in Philadelphia, PA and was a graduate of Willingboro High School. She worked at McMillan Publishing, and from there went on to work with several automotive companies as the Office Manager at Foster Toyota, then the Controller at Keenan Mercedes Benz/ Honda, and most recently as the Controller at Team Toyota in Princeton, NJ. She and her husband Jeff Barish split their time between their home in Naples, FL , Long Beach Island, NJ, and Yardley, PA. Karen had an affinity for the beach, the sea, and her cats Wind and Willow. She loved teaching people who worked for her so that they could move up and thrive.
She is survived by her husband Jeff Barish, stepdaughter April Barish Stahl and husband Dan, granddaughters Samantha Stahl, Victoria Stahl, and Natalie Stahl, sister Carol Filemyr Foster and husband Tom, sister Dr. Janet Filemyr Krommes and husband Dr. John, brother Garrett Filemyr and wife Wan Chen, nieces and nephews Beth Janette Foster DeTuro, Johnathan Foster, John Burkholder, Paul Burkholder, and mother in law Rhona Barish and father in law Wallace Barish.
A memorial service will be held on Monday November 17, 2025 from 11am-2pm at Thos. L Shinn Funeral home in Manahawkin, NJ, with the service beginning at 1230pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Karen’s honor to the American Cancer Society and the Southern Ocean Medical Center.
