

Larry was born on November 17, 1937, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Anna and Carl Anderson. He was raised in West Allis, and never lost his Midwestern roots. He met and instantly fell in love with his wife Marie Ellena . They were married for nearly 64 years in June.
Larry is survived by his five children, Kristin Sommer(Scott), Larry Anderson (Stephanie), Jana Curry (Mike), Steven Anderson (Cheryl), and Paul Anderson (Holly). He is predeceased by his sister, Shirley Ann Maier, and granddaughter Mary Ann Curry. Larry was lucky to be blessed with nine grandchildren, Michael Curry, Julie Gentile (Zach), Kelly Anthony (Eric), Amanda Curry, Valerie Kachnoskie, Nicholas Anderson (Julianne), Alison Kachnoskie, Dana Engle (Paul) and Paige Anderson. He also has two great grandchildren, Hannah Anderson and Cooper Engle.
Larry loved his family and the wonderful holidays and celebrations they shared. He had a great sense of humor.
Larry worked his entire life as an electrical engineer. He attended The University of Wisconsin and Drexel University . He often worked on top secret military projects, and was chosen to represent his company in an address to The United Nations. He served his country in the US Army stationed in Germany where he met several lifelong friends.
Larry was very involved in his community. He was elected repeatedly as Supervisor of Salford Township , Montgomery County PA and served for over 36 years. He continued as a public servant thereafter.
Larry was a huge Penn State football fan. He enjoyed golf and racquetball, and held a black belt in Judo. He played football for the University of Wisconsin and turned that knowledge into a successful coaching career for years in the Pop Warner league. Larry’s personal hero was Vince Lombardi, and instilled in his children the drive to be the best they could be in life.
Larry was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, and maintained his reception of the Holy Eucharist until his death.
Services will be held Monday June 1, 2026.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 followed immediately by Mass. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 4700 Long Beach Blvd, Long Beach Township, NJ 08008
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
