

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian Orrico, long time resident of Long Beach Island, on April 28, 2025, at the age of 96 at her home in Loveladies, NJ. Born on October 29, 1928 to Michael & Anna Sturko, immigrants from Medyka, Poland, Lillian was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ.
Lillian graduated from Bowling Green University and received her Masters Degree in Education from Columbia University.
Lillian began her career as an Elementary school teacher in the South Plainfield school district where she met her husband, Sabbott "Sab" Orrico, also a teacher. They married in 1955 and raised 4 beautiful children, residing first in Scotch Plains, NJ and then for the next 35 years in Bridgewater, NJ. Lillian spent the majority of her career teaching in the Bridgewater Raritan School DIsrtrict, until her retirement in 1992.
After summering for many years at their home in Barnegat Light, Lil and Sab retired to Loveladies in 1992. Lillian was a volunteer at Southern Ocean Medical Center for 20 years, she was a long time member of the Long Beach Yacht Club, where she loved to dance and karaoke with her close group of wonderful friends and enjoyed singing her Patsy Cline songs. She enjoyed traveling, attending NYC theatre, trips to Atlantic City and especially playing bridge, golfing with girlfriends and spending time with her family and friends.
Lillian was predeceased by her husband, Sabbott J. Orrico (2004). She is survived by her 4 children, Karin (Kevin Teeling), Susan (Bruce Neustadt), John (Mark Campbell) and David (Debra) and 4 grandchildren, Sara, Hannah, Alyssa and Rachel, as well as her 2 great grandchildren, Josie Lillian and Easton Tyler. The family would especially like to thank Rosemary Ramos, Lillian's live in caretaker, for the wonderful, kind and compassionate care she gave her over the years. Family will receive guest at 10:30 to pay there respects at the church before the mass.
A funeral mass will be held at St. Frances of Assisi Parish, 4700 Long Beach Blvd., Brant Beach, NJ, on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at 11:00am
