He is predeceased by his loving parents, Louis and Bertha Hack, his sister Barbara Wittick and his cherished mother-in-law Alice Ridgway.
He is survived by Judith, his beloved wife of 43 years, his cousins Ken and Tom Moerschel and his “niece” Chris Beling. His best friend and companion, his cat Jessie also survives him.
Lou was the consummate host and old school gentleman. His passion for golf was legendry amongst those who knew him. On a trip to Scotland, he had the honor of playing the Old Course at St. Andrews. That’s how good he was! Lou also mixed a really mean martini.
Lou was proud of his military service and true to his Catholic faith all his life.
He was an active member of the Beach Haven Yacht Club, where he was also on the Bocce team.
He cherished the many dear friends he made at the club as well as his golf buddies. He always cherished the long time friendships with his good friends from Staten Island. He and Judith were snowbirds, spending winters in Florida with many of their dear friends.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. We are all richer for having Lou in our lives.
A special thank you to Dr. Tricia Marino and her staff for the wonderful care and support they shown to Lou and Judith.
A memorial service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin.
