Marcus Reed

Marcus was born in Oklahoma. He proudly served his country in the US Army, stationed in Branch Brook Park in Newark, NJ, where he met the love of his life, Margaret. Together they resided and raised their family in Belleville, NJ prior to moving to Stafford by the Bay, in Manahawkin.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Margaret Reed. He is also survived by his loving children; daughter, Janet Hanlon and son-in-law, Henry, his son Marc Reed and daughter-in-law, Elsa, daughter, Donna Reed and son-in-law, George Wizner. Marcus is also survived by his precious grandchildren; Jeff Hanlon, Cassandra Hanlon, Amanda Reed and Ashley Reed and his two brothers; Eugene and Harold Reed of OK.

Marcus was an avid Yankee fan and took a lot of ribbing from his Manahawkin friends about being in Phillies land.

He also enjoyed watching the Giants football team.

A visitation will be held at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin on Thursday, March 9, 2017 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm

A Funeral home service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00am. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Beachview Ave. Manahawkin.
