Margaret LaFurno

Margaret "Peggy" LaFurno passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 in Galloway, NJ.

Peggy was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 10, 1921 moving across the Delaware to National Park, NJ as a child.

Mom graduated from Woodbury High School in 1939 and immediately went to work in the offices of Philco at the Philadelphia Naval Yard as the country prepared for war. After a lifetime of working her final job was her favorite, being employed at the Hilton Hotel at Lake Buena Vista as a Hostess where she earned numerous awards for her excellent customer service skills gave her tremendous personal satisfaction.

Peggy is predeceased by her husband Guy, sister AnnaMae, brother Joe and beloved parents Mary and Joseph Moran.

Peggy is survived by her daughters Patty (Jim) and Kathy (Dale), her sister Elaine, sister-in-law Ellen, niece Marie and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Mom's lifelong love of reading, travel to places near and far, interest in politics, never ending affection for cats and sense of humor made her a uniquely wonderful person that shone brightly and attracted others to her for each and every one of her 97 years.

Mom’s later life was greatly enhanced by living in Kissimmee Gardens where her numerous friends became as close as family.

The family would like to extend a warm and special thank you to the Nurse's Assistants, Nurses and entire staff of the Health Center of Galloway for their gentle care of Mom in her final months.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at the Grissom Funeral Home, 803 Emmett Street, Kissimmee, FL.

Internment will follow at Osceola Memory Gardens in Kissimmee, FL.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local SPCA.
