Martha A Lopez

Martha married Ramon R. Lopez in 1946 in Bayamo where they raised their two children, Nelida and Ramon A., until 1962. Because of the Castro regime, the family fled to the United States looking for freedom. After a brief stay in Miami, they relocated to Michigan where they lived for 5 years. In 1967, they decided to move to Southern California for a new start. Martha lost her beloved husband, Ramon R. in 1980 and cherished son, Ramon A. in 1995, resulting in her move to New Jersey to be close to her daughter, husband, and granddaughters.

Martha was known for her love of travel, fashion, and interior design. She enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and was especially proud to be the treasured “Abu” (Abuela) to her 5 great grandchildren.

Martha was the beloved wife of the late Ramon R. Lopez, devoted mother to Nelida Kuhlmann and her late husband Hans, and the late Ramon A., loving Abuela of Lissette May and her husband, Mike, and Michelle Brunke and her husband, Dan, Thomas, Anna, Hans and Laura and cherished “Abu” to her great grandchildren, Tommy, Carly, Ryan, Danny and Max.

Friends and family will gather at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ on Sunday, November 13th for visitation from 2:00-5:00pm. Funeral Service will be on Monday, November 14th at St. Theresa’s Church, 450 Radio Rd., Little Egg Harbor, NJ at 10:00am.
