Marvin Frank Sedlacek

Marvin F. Sedlacek, 84, passed away on Thursday, January 15, 2015. Born October 23, 1930 in Swisher Iowa, he and his wife Barbara lived in Surf City, NJ upon his retirement. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Barbara and his children Phyllis and Steven.

Marvin received degrees in Engineering from the University of Iowa, College of Engineering. He also participated in ROTC and received a 2nd Lieutenant commission in the Corps of Engineers. Upon his completion from the service, he accepted employment with Aerojet General in Sacramento, CA.

His career in engineering then took him and his family to Valley Forge, PA., where he accepted employment in the Space Division of General Electric. In 1993, Marvin retired, and he and Barbara settled in Surf City, NJ where they volunteer as "Senior Saints" at All Saints Elementary School. They also served on the Land Use Board of the Borough of Surf City. Both Marvin and Barbara volunteered with the Surf City Volunteer Fire and EMS #1.
