Mary R. Savastano

Mary R. Savastano, 89, died Friday, March 7, 2014 at Southern Ocean Medical Center in Manahawkin. Born and raised in Newark, NJ she resided in Union, NJ for 59 years before moving to Barnegat about seven years ago.

Mary was the daughter of the late Louis and Teresa Treppunti, and wife of the late Joseph A. Savastano. Mary is survived by her sister, Evelyn Treppunti, of Union, NJ, her daughter, Theresa Hulme, of Barnegat, sons Joseph Savastano of Asbury Park and Robert and Cindy Savastano of Easton PA. She is also survived by grandchildren Bobby, Sarah, Jacqueline and Leon, Michael, Brooke, Jimmy, Joe, Brandi, Danny, and Ashley, and numerous extended family members. She was also the proud great-grandmother of five.

Mary was a very loving, kind, and affectionate homemaker who loved her family and extended family very much. She loved her dogs Tiki and Bailey, cats Tammy and Gussie, pet canary, Peppy, Barbra Streisand music, dancing, figure skating, Opera music, cooking, homemade chicken noodle soup, baking, and General Hospital.

Calling hours are Tuesday, March 11th from 9:00AM until 11:30AM at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home 10 Hilliard Drive, Manahawkin, New Jersey 08050.
