Milton P Achey Jr.

Mike was born on August 26,1939 to Milton and Alice Achey in Lindenwold, NJ. After Mike graduated from Jonathan Dayton Regional High School in 1958, he went on to have a long career as an Owner Operator truck driver and worked for Dameo, Interstate Road Runner and Asbestos Transportation as well as others.

Mike retired and spent his time serving as an addiction and recovery counselor at both the Atlantic City Rescue Mission and America’s Keswick. He also served his neighbors and friends by cutting and delivering wood to those needing a little extra help with home heating. Mike had a servant’s heart and could be seen cutting the grass at Main Street Alliance Church and he often looked for ways he could live out his faith by quietly serving in the churches he attended or finding those in need and lending a hand. He was always there to give a ride or an encouraging word to those around him. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.

Mike is survived by his sister Edith Steadtler and her husband Richard; His children Nadine DeBlock her husband Ron and their children Kit and Michelle; Kimberly Nye her husband Bill and their children Kaleigh, William, Samantha, Marissa; His son Michael Achey; Christine Matuska her husband Jayson and their child Jade and her son James Schindler.

Services will be held at Main Street Alliance Church, 1000 N. Main Street, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 on January 28,2023 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to America’s Keswick Addiction and Recovery Program https://americaskeswick.org/support/give-now/ an organization Mike felt strongly about.
