
Morris John DeGennaro, 87, of Surf City passed away on Sunday, May 1st at Jersey Shore University Hospital, Neptune. A memorial mass will be held on Friday, May 6th at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi, Long Beach Blvd. Brant Beach.
Morris was born and raised in Hoboken, N.J. He lived in North Bergen and Kenilworth before retiring to Surf City. He enjoyed salt water fishing and was known for his uncompromising competitiveness and knowledge of the sport by many on Long Beach Island. He cherished the natural beauty of LBI and all it had to offer. He was truly at home living in Surf City.
He was predeceased by his wife, Grace Aliano DeGennaro and daughter Grace T. DeGennaro. Surviving are his two sons, Anthony DeGennaro and David DeGennaro and their spouses, four grandchildren, Christopher DeGennaro, Alyssa Hughes, Nicholas DeGennaro, Maxwell DeGennaro as well as four great grandchildren, Kaley and Ryan DeGennaro and Hunter and Serafina Hughes.
