Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Geraldine, his devoted children; Carrie Beth Gunning and her husband Rob and Jonathan Cataffo and his wife Jessica. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Brianna Cataffo and Grace and Catherine Gunning as well as his step-grandchildren; Dylan, Aaron, Ethan and Christian. His loving sister Barbara Vorcheimer and his niece and nephews also survive him.
He is a graduate of Bloomfield College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
Paul was a sports enthusiast and was an avid N.Y. Giants and a N.Y. Mets fan. He was very involved in his community, serving as the President of the Fawn Lakes Community Association for 10 years. He also volunteered his time in other areas of the community. He and Geraldine enjoyed playing shuffle board and joining in the many other clubhouse activities at Fawn Lakes and taking trips to Atlantic City.
Nothing was more important to him than his family. He enjoyed the many family gatherings and celebrations. He was the coach for his daughter’s softball team as well as team leader of his son’s Yuma Tribe. He attended almost every activity his grandchildren were involved in; Field Hockey games, Flag Football, Dance Recitals and Swim Meets; “Grandpa” was in the stands cheering them on.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 from 10:00am-11:00am at St. Mary of the Pines Catholic Church, 100 Bishop Lane, Manahawkin, NJ. Mass will be held at 11:00am followed by entombment at St. Mary Cemetery, Beachview Ave., Manahawkin, NJ.
