

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Woehr and her brother Robert (Bob) Janvier.
Phyllis is survived by her brother Charles Janvier of Fort Meyers, FL; 5 loving children; Kathleen McNinney, Dennis (Sally), Stephen, Kevin (Janet) and James (Dana) as well as her 9 cherished grandchildren (Patrick McNinney, Megan Hall, Brian McNinney, Katie Fallon, Kathleen Woehr, Heidi Woehr, Gretchen Woehr, Ryan Woehr, Joseph Woehr) and 8 great-grandchildren (Drew McNinney, Jewel McNinney, Jackson Gurnee, Grant Iacovone, Ryder Fallon, Michaela Smith, Ethen Hall, Blake Hall).
She graduated from Lakewood High School in 1947, from Drexel Institute of Technology with a home economics degree in 1951, obtained her teacher’s certificate from Central Regional Adult School in 1964, and with a master’s degree in teaching from Glassboro State University ca. 1971.
Phyllis was a kindergarten, elementary and reading teacher at West Creek, Lacey Township, Beach Haven and Tuckerton Elementary School, from where she retired after 20 years of teaching.
She was an avid stamp collector, family historian and enjoyed traveling. She was an active member and held several offices of several clubs which included the DAR Joshua Huddy chapter, NJ Education Association, the Ocean County Reading Council and the LBI women’s club where she was a member of the LBI Women’s chorus.
Phyllis was a life-long member of Lakewood, West Creek and Manahawkin Methodist Churches. She was part of the choir at the Manahawkin church.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 3, 2026, from 2:00pm-4:00pm at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, with a funeral home service at 3:30pm.
Burial will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 10:00am at Woodland Cemetery, 1400 Clifton Ave., Lakewood, NJ in her parents, Robert and Elsie Janvier’s plot.
