Richard was predeceased by his daughter, Donna-Marie Hemence his sisters, Joan Yahn and Nancy Silvano. Richard is survived by his wife of 68 years, Doris, his son Rick his wife, Maggie. 4 grandchildren, Alex, Jon, Brie and Erik and 9 great grandchildren ,Will, Jovet, Ami .Nina, Brandon Estaben, Harrison, Hunter , and Elijah
Richard was a proud veteran, serving the United States Army from 1947-1950. He was the co-founder of the Old Bridge Ambulance Squad, a life member of the Manahawkin Elks, a member of the Old Barney Amateur Radio Club of Manahawkin, the Sons of Norway and the Danish Brotherhood.
Visitation will be held on Monday, Oct.31, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr Manahawkin.
Services will be Tuesday 1:30PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Old Tennant Cemetery, Tennant, NJ
