Robert was my friend and neighbor in Union, I was saddened to hear of his passing. My deep consciousness to the family

I was riding my bike to The Surf City Pharmacy and had in my subconscious mind that Robert would be there to joke with.  I realized that I still carry Roberts' memory with me and dammit I still miss him!  I know it's been a while, but I can't help it.

We too were shocked to hear of Robert's passing. You and he were always such bright stars in the Bahamas, Week 43! Please accept our deepest sympathy in your great loss. Our prayers go out to you, his family and his many friends.

I worked at the Surf City Pharmacy many summers I was there when this bright young pharmacist Bob,came to work for Jack Segal and bought the pharmacy. He was a great guy and will be sorely missed by all that knew him. My condolences to his family.

It is so touching to read all the wonderful comments friends and relatives have written about Robert. He was clearly loved and respected by many. I will always remember Robert as the dapper and knowledgeable man that so clearly loved and cherished being your husband. I worked at Surf City Pharmacy during my college years along with my brothers and later my son worked there too. Bob was much more than a boss. He was a kind and generous man who helped me become a more confident young woman. He used to joke that I needed to marry a man like him and it is surprising how much my husband and Bob are alike. My heart goes out to his family and hope you find comfort in how much he was loved and respected. Surf  City will never be quite the same without Bob. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Our hearts are heavy as we think of you and Ashley during this difficult time.  I have always respected Robert for his ability to balance his life with you in Minnesota and his hard work in providing care to his customers at the pharmacy in New Jersey.  I will never forget the way he would look at you when we were all together- like he was the luckiest man in the room. Dear Michon, I was so sorry to hear of your loss. Just wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I remember Robert at all our family gatherings, his wonderful train set, joining in the card games, taking great care of Michon.  There is no way to practice for such a great loss.  My thoughts are with Michon, his sister, and all the people who benefited from his knowledge at his pharmacy.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Roberts family and friends He was such a fine man. So many good memories of times we had. I will remember him with a smile he liked to have a good time it was always fun. He was such a wonderful husband to my loving friend Michon his spirt remains to guide you and his love . I will always remember the first time meeting Robert, waving down to me from the top of the stairs at our resort in the Bahamas. Ever since, he has been a part of our family. Every year I enjoy seeing his new train set ups in the basement and hope we can hold that tradition. I'm so glad he was able to make his first trip to Chicago last year for my graduation, it was special that he was able to be there. Robert was a great uncle and it was wonderful spending time with him - his kind personality and laugh will be missed most!

We were shocked and deeply saddened when we read the SandPaper.  We love Bob!  We always looked forward to seeing him at the Pharmacy. In fact, we'd ask each other, did you get to see Bob today? He was just such pleasure to share a conversation with! Not only did he give us great advice on medications but so many other things too. He was so reliable, dependable, and wonderful!  On many occasions, he went above and beyond to accommodate our family and we are truly grateful. He was funny, insightful, and just a super person!  We will truly miss him. Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his sister, his friends, family and everyone at the pharmacy.

We were so shocked to hear about Robert, he was such a great guy and an excellent pharmacist , I am sorry I had to change pharmacist when I moved. My heart goes out to you Nancy and all the Family and his closest friends.  My brother John, Staci always asked about him. My son Billy was so appreciative of Bob's help and kindness when I was ill. Words cannot express my shock and sadness at the loss of Robert.  He was so kind and knowledgeable helping me with all my prescriptions even though I did not get them from him. When I called him several months ago he went through all my meds and helped me more than anyone else ever has and then took the time to stay on line and chat and laugh with me for about an hour.  I feel really lucky to have had the opportunity to have in my life. Robert was a one in a million guy.  How blessed you were to have each other all of these years. He would never have wanted this for you.  I know his goodness will be rewarded and he is in perfect light now.  I am always here for you, Michon.

I cannot adequately express the sadness I felt when I learned that Bob had passed away. He was my family pharmacist for many years, a good friend, and always went out of his way to serve his customers and the community. Yes, he was a very special guy, and will be sorely missed. Robert was a wonderful uncle to me. He was easy to talk to and had a good sense of humor. What I will remember most about Robert is that he always kept in touch with his youth. Every Christmas, he would set up his model train set collection and share stories of when and how he got each piece. His generosity and peaceful personality is very inspiring to me and will follow me into adulthood. While his passing is tragic, he will forever be on my mind and in my heart.

Before moving here I loved my pharmacist in Somerset, N.J.  I said I would
never meet another like him.  Well, we did when we met Robert, the nicest person you would want to meet.  He always said hello asked how we were doing and generally always helped us in any way that he could.  I am so upset about this and he knows that he will be sorely missed as a great person and also a great pharmacist.

I have not seen Bob since our days at Rutgers College of Pharmacy.  Bob graduated two years before me and I, along with my fellow fraternity pledge class, always looked up to Bob.  I am deeply saddened by the news.  The picture below brought back many fond memories of our days together at Rutgers.  My prayers and condolences to his family.

Robert will always be remembered for his kindness and compassion. Pat and I have know Robert for 35 years and will certainly miss him. He was an icon of Surf City.

When we moved to Surf City permanently eight years ago Bob was the go-to professional that linked us up with all our health care providers.  We continued to go to him for advice because he was honest, direct and our friend.  He is a great loss to us and the community.

We were so sorry to hear about the loss of Robert. The pharmacy was a legend in our family.  Robert took  care of parents Agnes and Edward Richards as well as our entire family.  Our sympathy and prayers to the family.  6th street families of Verruni, Henrick, Huganir,  Kotarski and my niece Alexis who worked for Bob.

I've been calling in prescriptions to Bob for 30 years(the last 5 years most of them have been for me and my wife Mary Beth!). With every single call I was greeted by not only an outstanding and knowledgeable pharmacist,but by a warm,caring friend and a "hi doc,what do you need?". He created a staff who makes everyone who enters likewise feel they are among friends-a truly family atmosphere. Words can't explain our sadness over the loss of Bob.  He has been so good to our families throughout the years (too many to count) and we will miss him terribly. We rented the bottom floor of Robert's house for more than 15 years. He was the best person to have as a landlord for the one or two weeks we stayed in the summer. Robert was our Friend, Pharmacist and Colleague.  We moved 9 years ago to the Western side of the state; yet I still got my Meds from him every three months! My heartfelt wishes to his family; he will be missed!

Bob always took such care with all of us. I just saw him two weeks ago and he was joking with me about all my boys being home.  I will never forget when my son Brian was very young  he had asthma and then got Chicken Pox, the doctor prescribed something new for Brian and Bob filled the prescription, he called us a few times that next day to see how the meds were reacting, I could never thank him enough for that, who does that (Bob). What a loss to this community.  Heartfelt sympathies to Bob's family.  Bob cared about everyone and went beyond his job to do what he could to help.  He helped my mom resolve so many issues with the insurance companies that no other pharmacy would have done.  We will miss you, Bob!

I'm Craig Keyser and I want the people of LBI and surrounding areas to know that Bob was a friend and a generous, understanding person that gave of himself like no other pharmacist ever had to me.  If I required a medication that was unaffordable, he would just say "Craig just give me 20 bucks."  He listened to my litany of problems and gave levity to serious situtations wherein I was depressed and broken.  He teased me like an older brother would a younger one and always was altruistic in his ways in general. other, and  I will greatly miss his perspective and knowledge. Bob and I

There are no words to describe how saddened we were by Robert's passing. He was such a ray of sunshine and took his professional responsibilities far beyond what anyone could expect.It was always a joy to enter the Pharmacy and Robert always made the trip across the Causeway worthwhile. Bob, my first boss, an honest man, someone who always did the right thing, someone who was never too busy to say no.  Wow, I can't believe this news. I too had a very difficult time understanding how this man could have possibly left us.  He was, hands down, the BEST person and Pharmacist .  I was in the store just this past Saturday, and once again, he provided for me something I could never have received from any other pharmacy .  I am only sorry that I never voiced the way I felt for this man to him.  I certainly did to others in my life.  He will truly be missed.

Bob has been our family's savior. His expertise and advice has seen us through many challenges. Always the Gentleman - his humor and compassion are already missed. His Legacy lives on in the Service he cherished.

He was not only my pharmacist, he was my friend.  I will miss you Bob.

Bob, a true friend, a great boss, an asset to our business community. Not only did I have the pleasure to work with Bob years ago as he was purchasing the Pharmacy, but years later, my daughter worked at the Surf City Pharmacy while in college. 

He poured so much into going above and beyond to help those in need, dispensing medications, checking on customers with new medications, and helping customers with difficulties when dealing with insurance companies. He always had a cheerful hello when I came and stories to tell. My life has been enriched knowing and working with such a special person!

There are no words for the grief being felt by family, friends, & community at the loss of this fine man.

  I worked for Bob for 18 years, through good and bad times and cannot wrap my head around the idea that he is gone. I am blessed to have had him in my life as are so many others.

I AM ONLY A LONG TIME CUSTOMER OF ROBERTS, BUT WE BONDED VERY CLOSELY AS HE DID WITH MANY. I CAN'T LIST THE HUNDREDS OF EXPERIENCES AND HEART FELT TALKS WE HAD OVER THE YEARS, BUT  WE SHARED OURSELVES AND HAD THE HEARTIEST OF BELLY LAUGHS. ROBERT WAS THE MOST INTELLIGENT AND PROFESSIONAL PHARMACIST I EVER KNEW OF AND MY DISCUSSIONS WITH MY PHYSICIANS ABOUT HIM CONFIRMED, THAT HE WAS TRULY AN EXCEPTION TO THE RULE AND VERY WISE IN HIS TIME. I PRIDED MYSELF OVER THE YEARS WITH MY STIFF UPPER LIP AND VIRTUALLY ALMOST NEVER SHED A TEAR EXCEPT, MY PARENTS AND ONE OLD SCHOOL CHUM.
   WHEN CHRIS TOLD ME WHAT HAPPENED, I COULDN'T MAKE A SOUND FOR A COUPLE OF MINUTES. SHE ASK ME IF I WAS OKAY AND AS THE AIR REACHED MY THROAT AND MY VOICE MADE A HIGH SOFT SOUND, I SAID "NO, I DON'T THINK I AM". I THEN BROKE DOWN AND BALLED LIKE A BABY. HOURS LATER I HAVE PULLED MYSELF TOGETHER AND I STILL CAN'T CONTROL WHEN OR IF I'LL JUST START AGAIN. 
   I REALIZE NOW I TOOK ROBERT WITH ME EVERYWHERE.  I WAS ALWAYS TALKING ABOUT ROBERT TO SOMEONE AND HOW HE WAS REALLY SOMEONE SPECIAL. I GUESS NOW I KNOW WHAT I NEVER EVEN REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT CONSCIOUSLY, I LOVED ROBERT AND WILL MISS HIM DEARLY.  LOVE RUSS AND CLAIRE EVERETT

I think I was 16 when I started working for Bob.  I worked summers, after school, and on break from college.  Bob said he never had children but considered us all his kids...I have compared every boss to Bob and they have all come up short.  He was an amazing person.  I am very sad knowing he is no longer with us.  I feel very blessed to  have known him and to have worked for him.  I will miss him.
