

Roy graduated from Saunders Trades and Technical High School in 1959 and proudly served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1961, assigned to duty on the USS Orion. He was a journeyman electrician and member of Local Union #3, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 39 years. He was an active member of the North New Jersey Chapter of Local Union #3 IBEW Retirees Association, where the club fostered great friendships and camaraderie.
Roy was a very active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in New Milford, NJ (his second home for over 30 years) and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Little Egg Harbor, NJ. He loved fishing, gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
Roy is survived by his loving wife Florence (nee Edgar) of 55 years. He was the loving father of Christopher J. Floden and will also be missed by his devoted twin grandchildren, Kyle and Sofia Floden and their mother, Kelly (nee Mullen); his nephew Anthony Amendola, III and his son, Anthony Amendola, IV, and many loving cousins, friends, neighbors, and coworkers.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Thure and Margrethe (Eliassen) Floden and his sister, Dorothy Miller.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church on Friday, January 19, 2024 with a visitation at 10:30 am followed by a memorial service at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 500 Mathistown Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
