August 17, 1931 – July 28, 2025
With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Ruth E. Farley, who peacefully passed on July 28, 2025, at Genesis Southern Ocean Center, at the age of 93. On behalf of the entire family, we would like to extend our gratitude to the skilled nursing staff at Genesis for their warmth, kindness, and professionalism during Mommom’s final days.
Born on August 17, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ruth displayed strength and courage throughout her life. Known to those around her as “Trooper Ruth,” she had a “get-it-done” attitude and was determined to march on, even in the face of grief, which she displayed after losing the love of her life, Jim, in 1998.
She devoted her life to her family, church, and community. A proud member of the Manahawkin United Methodist Church for over 33 years, she put God first, family second, and the Phillies third.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Karen MacIntosh, eight grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim L. Farley, and sons Howard E. Farley, Sr., and Carl J. Farley.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and that her legacy of love will live on in all of us.
A joint memorial service will be held on August 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Manahawkin United Methodist Church located at 116 Stafford Avenue, Manahawkin, NJ 08050. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manahawkin United Methodist Church, in memory of both Ruth and Carl.
