Predeceased by his two sisters, Marie and Clara, Salvatore is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years Catherine. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Marian Davis, his nephew James Reilly and his niece Kathleen Davis.
Sal was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country during WWII. He enjoyed playing in a band while stationed in Florida, helping to uplift the morale of his comrades-in-arm.
After he was discharged from the Navy, Sal became a professional musician, playing the trumpet and the trombone in various clubs around New Jersey. He also played the piano and could belt out great renditions of Boogie Woogie music.
Salvatore loved to cook, he made at least 90% of the meals for Catherine and himself. He would make homemade pizza from scratch among other delicious dishes. He was an avid gardener, together with Catherine, they would fill the bird feeders and watch the beautiful birds that would come to feed in their yard. He was a dog lover, especially the Wire Fox Terriers.
