Susan Agnes Mecum

She was predeceased by her parents Donald Sr. and Agnes Tierney and her sister Barbara Esposito.

Susan is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, Craig, her loving brothers and her sisters-in-law, Donald Jr. and Maryanne and Kevin and Michelle, her brother-in-law, Christian, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and godchildren.

Susan was born in Manhattan, New York and lived in Inwood until 1960. Her family then moved to Staten Island where she attended St. Rita’s Catholic School and St. Joseph by the Sea High School.

Susan spent her entire career with US Life Insurance/AIG Insurance. She worked in the data entry department in the New York office before relocating to New Jersey. She retired after 34 years of employment.

She enjoyed travelling and took multiple trips to Ireland with her father and husband. She also spent time visiting Cape May and Atlantic City. Susan loved Law and Order and murder mystery television shows. She cherished time spent with her beloved family and friends, especially during the holiday season. She will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 10:00am-12:00pm with a funeral home service at 12:00pm. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Beachview Ave., Manahawkin.
