Adele was born in Manhattan, NY. She was the daughter of Eva and Soloman Ratner and adored her brother, Martin Ratner. Adele had the pleasure to live in Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island NY, prior to retiring with her husband, Albert to Toms River, NJ and Boynton Beach, FL.
Adele was a wife, a homemaker, a mother, and a secretary at Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY. She was an active member of the Congregation Aviv Hadash and was the editor for their newsletter. She enjoyed participating in tennis matches, Mahjong, leisurely reading, attending the ballet in NYC, and watching her family grow.
Adele had the honor of marrying her true love, Albert Lutsky in May of 1956 and created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and happiness. They spent 53 wonderful years together traveling the world, playing tennis, raising their 3 children, spoiling their 6 grandchildren, and loving their 2 great grandchildren.
Adele is survived by her daughters Caren Ford and her late husband Greg, Ilene Edwards and her husband Michael, her son Jay Lutsky and his wife Barbara, and her perfect grandchildren Danielle, Alyssa, David and his wife Stephanie, George, Dana her husband, Alan, and Jared, as well as her adorable great-grandsons Theo and Nathan.
Though she has left this world, the music of her life will forever play on in our hearts and to us, she will always be our walking dictionary.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 5, 2026 at 11:00am at New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11704. Friends and extended family should meet us outside the cemetery office between 10:15am - 10:45am to pay their respects to the family prior to the service.
Shiva will be held following the burial at Ilene and Michael's home, 10 Arlington Drive, Marlboro, NJ 07746 on Monday, October 5th from 5:00pm - 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 12:00pm - 8:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Adele's memory may be made to Hadassah, the Women's Zionist Organization of America (www.hadassah.org).
