

Born on October 10, 1943 in Irvington, NJ, he lived at the Jersey Shore before settling in Ocean Township and then Marlboro before moving to Monroe Township.
Prior to retiring, he had a great career as an electrician for JRH Electric and was a proud Union member of IBEW Local 400.
He loved sports and was a passionate NY Jets and Yankees fan. An avid traveler, he also enjoyed photography. After retiring, fishing with his friends became one of his favorite activities. However, spending time with his 12 grandchildren was his greatest pleasure.
Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 41 years Maxine (Shlosh) Saum; and his loving children Donna McIntosh and her husband Scott, Deborah Cahall and her husband Chris, Michelle Hubertus and her husband Jim, Daniel Rosenthal and his wife Michelle and Albert Matthew Saum and his wife Heather. He is survived by his adored grandchildren Caitlin Kupcha; Dylan Castora; Lacey McGraw and her husband Connor; Jake, Rachel and Mark Hubertus; Jeff, Sarah and Greg Rosenthal; Rob, Kelly and Megan Saum; and great-grandson Lincoln McGraw. Bert will be most remembered as being a dedicated father and grandfather.
Private funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 26th at 11am. In concern for everyone’s safety and health, the family respectfully asks that only those invited to the service attend in-person, and everyone else is welcome to join the service via livestream on Facebook live using this link https://fb.me/e/1l78Pc18y You do not need a Facebook account to join the live stream of the funeral ceremony. Private entombment will follow at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah at Cedar Park Cemetery, Oradell, NJ.
The family will be observing shiva privately.
