Born June 7, 1931 in the Bronx, Mr. Elowitz was a 1950 graduate of Weequahic High School in Newark, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He married Anne Kalm of Miami, FL. in 1955. They moved to Colonia, NJ in 1961 where they raised their three sons, living there until their retirement in 1999 to Jackson, NJ. Mr. Elowitz spent his 46-year career in the garment industry working in NJ and NY. He was most recently a Jackson Township resident; a lifelong fan of the NY Mets and football NY Giants, and enjoyed rose gardening, antique & stamp collecting, and traveling on many cruises.
He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Anne, in 2006.
He is survived by his three sons, Ken Elowitz of Cary, NC, Michael Elowitz of Pine Bush NY, and Ronald Elowitz and his wife Cherilynn Whitehouse of Watchung, NJ. He is also survived by his brother Jerrold Elowitz of Indio CA, and granddaughter Arianna Elowitz, also of Pine Bush NY.
A funeral service will be held on April 25, 2018 11:30 a.m.at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery in Arneytown NJ.
The Period of Mourning will be observed at the late residence Wednesday following the burial.
