Mrs. Erman was a graduate of the New Jersey College for Women (Douglas College) and worked as an actuary for Prudential Insurance Company for more than 30 years. She was a past president of the Union Chapter of Hadassah and served as recording secretary of the Village Grande Chapter of Hadassah, Golda Meir Chapter of Hadassah of Atlantic County, and the Hillside-Union Chapter of Hadassah. Anita was also the recording secretary of Congregation Beth Shalom in Union and Temple Beth Shalom in Brigantine as well as being its first adult Bat Mitzvah. Anita and her husband Dr. Jerome Erman, a podiatrist, were instrumental in establishing Recital Stage and the Foundation for the Performing Arts, which brought live classical music concerts and performing arts events to Union County for many years. In recent years, Mrs. Erman was an active resident of the Meadow Lakes Retirement Community in East Windsor.
Anita is survived by her son Dr. David Erman and his wife, Dr. Beth Brody of East Windsor, and their children Matthew and Samantha. She will be deeply missed.
